The
FSC label identifies all those products
wood containing, coming from forests
that are managed according to rigid
environmental, social and economic
standards in a responsible and correct
way. The forest of origin has been
controlled in an independent way according
to these standards (rules and criterions
of a good forest management), that
are established and approved by the
Forest Stewardship Council through
the participation and the agreement
of the involved parties.
The FSC is an independent, non-governmental,
not for profit organization consisting
of diverse groups of representatives
from environmental and social groups,
the timber trade and the forestry
profession, indigenous people’s
organizations, responsible corporations,
community forestry groups that work
together to improve the forest management
all around the world.
